Vessels

"As with all of my Mindscape paintings,
each Vessel painting's story evolves over a period of time:
starting out as abstractions and loose sketches,
then moving through a period of associative or aesthetic motifs, color-schemes, visual textures and relational narratives.

Each step revealing and exploring the 'Life' in the Still-Life.

"What really excites me about working with this glass-vessel motif
is the opportunity to work with light and color,
line and texture,
form and space
in such an organic and expressive way.

These Vases, formed by fire for carrying water,
are
filled with light and space,
void and empty,
transparent, translucent, reflective, luminous,
fragile and impermanent."

-Roberto Quintana

In a special effort to set a good example to all of our elected representatives on the importance of listening to the other side, Roberto has been fiercely negotiating with his Marketing Department and with his banking team over at Collections and Receivables.

Collections insists on capping our Patron's spending by setting the highest price that the market will allow (which they have determined are the prices quoted below, and elsewhere on this website), while Marketing has this somewhat fanciful idea that lowering the prices of the paintings will somehow magically increase sales and allow Roberto to serve as many Patrons as possible.

After weighing both arguments very carefully and after the usual lengthy (somewhat whinny) discussions with his Guru, and with the many Esteamed Ascended Masters on his internet-thingy-device, and his Runes...
Roberto has decided to side with Marketing and all of his new and returning Patrons and to offer:

a Whopping! 20% off SPECIAL!

WooHoo!

“When you look at (the) natural world, it becomes an icon; it becomes a holy picture that speaks of the origins of the world. Almost every mythology sees the origins of life coming out of water. And, curiously, that’s true.
It’s amusing that the origin of life out of water is in myths
and then again, finally, in science we find the same thing.
It’s exactly so.”
-Joseph Campbell

"Modern physics has confirmed most dramatically one of the basic ideas of Eastern mysticism; that all the concepts we use to
describe nature are limited, that they are not features of reality,
 as we tend to believe, but creations of the mind;
parts of the map, not of the territory."

-Fritjof Capra

”Glass is the most magical of all materials.
It transmits light in a special way.”

-Dale Chihuly
